Acts 24:5-6 – For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.

OPINION (Ricky Scaparo) – In the book of Acts, we discover that the Apostle Paul was preaching the Gospel and destroying the traditions of the religious leaders of his day with his radical message of grace, power, and deliverance! So much so that Ananias the high priest, elders of Israel and a certain orator named Tertullus pleaded with the governor of Rome to shut Paul and his message down because he was labeled as what the NKJV calls a “Plague”, or nuisance to the people. He was labeled this because his radical message was seeing the lives of many flipped upside down, miraculous healings, signs, wonder, and miracles taking place and multitudes turning to Christ! This irritated and infuriated the religious sect of his day and threatened their seat of authority, therefore they began to make false accusations and conspired all they could to silence the Apostle Paul and the Gospel from spreading any further.  What about our testimony? What about our witness? Are we leaving a trail of transformations, salvations, healings, miracles and Are we flipping over the religious golden calves of our community? Would we be considered a nuisance to the Pharisees of our day? Would we be considered a plague at our workplace? in our family? Are demons cringing because we show up to work today? Are the Pharisees plotting against us because the message we carry destroys the religious normal? I don’t know about you but it would be a great honor to be deemed a “Plague” among the Pharisees as long as I was carrying a message that was anointed and appointed by God Almighty to set the captives free and bring salvation to the lost!
