OPINION (Ricky Scaparo) – My wife and I have two boys, The oldest is 10 years old and the youngest is three years old. Recently, I was observing the boys playing together and I felt like the Holy Spirit showed me something very interesting about each one of them as they were both playing with Lego blocks. As I observed intently, I noticed something vastly different on how each of them played with the blocks. My oldest son would spend much time and energy strategically building something, while my youngest son would exert his energy and time in tearing down what was just built. The Holy Spirit showed me this is exactly what we are seeing in the Kingdom of God today! We are seeing those that are using their time and energy, along with the gifts and talents the Lord has given them to build up God’s Kingdom, while another group of individuals in the Kingdom, are using their time and energy to nothing but tear down God’s Kingdom. Let me explain more in detail.

The Lord spoke to me that we can identify the maturity level of believers by their actions. Mature believers will recognize their calling and the gifting that the Lord has entrusted them with and will use that gift and calling to help build up the Kingdom of God by exhorting, edifying and equipping the Church. While immature believers will waste most of their time attempting to tear down God’s Kingdom through gossip, slander, discord and false accusations. The Apostle Paul dealt with this very thing in the Church of Corinth. He wrote a letter to them and said: “And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?” – 1 Corinthians 1:1-3

The Apostle Paul also said: 1 Corinthians 3:10 – According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. The Apostle tells us that the earmarks of immature believers are strife, envy, and discord. As a one who runs an online Ministry, For over ten years now I have seen these immature believers that have built entire “ministries” around doing nothing for the Kingdom of God but tearing down every every ministry and minister out there that has spent years being faithful and building up the Kingdom of God, Only to have these folks come along, to quickly make entire youtube snippets and blogs attempting to tear down what they have invested in. One particular incident was the passing of Billy Graham. Here is a man that was known as “America’s Pastor” and spent his entire life leading countless crusades, leading hundreds of thousands to the Lord if not millions, yet after his passing the immature believers flock to social media outlets and attempted to destroy his legacy by accusing him of everything from leading millions to Hell to being an Illuminati agent and the list goes on. I don’t know about you but the last thing I want to leave as a legacy to my children and next generation is a legacy of immaturity and known for tearing down God’s Kingdom but I want to be known as one who built up God’s Kingdom!  “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.” – 1 Corinthians 3:9
