“We have heard with our ears, O God,
Our fathers have told us,
The deeds You did in their days,
In days of old:
You drove out the nations with Your hand,
But them You planted;
You afflicted the peoples and cast them out.
For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword,
Nor did their own arm save them;
But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance,
Because You favored them”. – Psalm 44:1-3
The passage above is so powerful in that it speaks of one generation speaking into the next generation regarding the mighty acts and works of the Lord that they both saw and experienced in their lifetime. If there was ever a generation that needed to hear of what God has done in times past it is right now! I know that as a father of two boys myself this is something that I have done many times over the years.
I have served the Lord for over 20 years now and have both seen and experienced the miraculous in the Lord, and I always love to sit my boys down and testify to them of situations that were impossible in the natural but how God would always show up to part a red sea in my life, Stories of how total strangers would cross our path and have a divine encounter with the Lord.
My boys would be hanging to every word on how the Lord is still healing today, How he is still delivering today and that the power of the Holy Spirit is still operating in our lives today and that he doesn’t want them to just know about what he did in times past but how he wants to use them in times present with the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead operating through them in the earth today!
We need burning mothers and fathers in this hour that can look at the next generation and testify that it wasn’t a politician that got them out of their mess, it wasn’t a psychologist, it wasn’t a 5 step program and it wasn’t their gifts and talents but it was his mighty right hand!
